Dennis Tribble, Pharm. D. elected Chairman of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Section on Pharmacy Informatics and Technology
Dr. Tribble to apply decades of pharmacy automation experience to new role
November 29, 2007: ForHealth Technologies Inc., a recognized innovator in automation systems for hospital pharmacies, is pleased to announce the election of Dennis A. Tribble, Pharm. D. to the position of Chairman-elect of the Section on Pharmacy Informatics and Technology of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Dr. Tribble immediately joins the Executive Committee of this section, and will assume the role of Chairman of the section at the ASHP Summer meeting in June, 2008 in Seattle, Washington.
ASHP has several sections and forums that offer their members various channels by which to communicate and interact with colleagues who share the same interests, issues, and challenges. The Section on Pharmacy Informatics and Technology is dedicated to improving health outcomes through the use and integration of data, information, knowledge, technology, and automation in the medication-use process. In his role as chairman of the section, Dr. Tribble will oversee the various projects and tasks of the section. He currently serves as the Executive Committee Liaison to the Section Advisory Group on Automation and Documentation.
Dr. Tribble has held a number of positions both in practice and in industry related to pharmacy automation. He is currently Chief Technology Officer at ForHealth Technologies, which develops automation products and systems for hospital pharmacies. Previously he was Chief Medical Officer at Baxa Corporation, Manager of Utilities Development at Health Data Sciences Corporation, Director of Pharmacy at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, IL, and Assistant Director of Pharmacy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL. He is a past-president of the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists.
Dr. Tribble has also published on a variety of subjects related to hospital pharmacy automation, is a charter member of the HIMSS Pharmacy Informatics Task Force, and is an inventor on nine patents related to hospital pharmacy operations. Dr. Tribble received his B.S. degree from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania and his Pharm. D. degree from the University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy in Stockton, California. Dr. Tribble also completed a residency in Hospital Pharmacy at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
